DAY 26’s Willie Taylor Honored in Hometown on Independence Day
HARVEY, IL – Coming off the hills of a the Best New Group BET Award nomination, DAY 26 is set to be honored once again in Harvey, Ill. The small town is home to member Willie Taylor. The city is also honing July 4, 2008 as “Day 26″ day. The 6th annual 4th of July “Pride in Harvey” parade and festival will designate 149th street as Willie Taylor Avenue. The Harvey native of the quintet grew up nearby the street that is being named after him.

DAY 26 will add to the annual festivities by performing in Taylor’s hometown. “It really means a lot to me that the folks in my community are supporting me in this way,” I am excited to bring the guys to my hometown and we are all looking forward to performing,” said Taylor of his honor from the Mayor of Harvey.

DAY 26 was introduced to the world by Bad Boy’s top executive, Sean “Diddy” Combs, last August. The group debuted their first album at no. 1 on the billboard charts and has been recognized with a BET Award nomination and a Teen Choice Award nomination. The group recently released their next single “Since You’ve Been Gone” this month.

Hey ya’ll - I just added about 70 captures from Making The Band 4 - Season 1. I had them on the computer for a while now, but I finally got around to uploading them to the gallery. They are pretty HQ too, so check them out.

The New York Times did a review of the Dr. Pepper School’s Out Concert that DAY26 performed at last night and they had good things to say. Thanks to BadBoy4Life for finding this! Check out an exerpt from the review :

“As T-Pain was counting down the minutes until he would be forced offstage, Day26, the R&B group that opened the show about two and a half hours earlier, was raining fliers down on the crowd from the upper balcony. The members then made their way to the lobby, where they posed for pictures with fans.

About a quarter of the audience abandoned T-Pain for the opportunity; after an unstructured jumble of a night, the ringleader could tame them only so much.”

Sup ya’ll? Here are two streaming videos of DAY26 performing at the Dr. Pepper Schools Out Concert last night. The Guys performed Come With Me, I Want You Exclusive, Got Me Going and Since You’ve Been Gone. *Caution* - beware of the screaming girls LMAO - they are loud! But the performances were really tight though.

The photo comes from DAY26’s Itunes playlist, which includes artists like Mario, Lloyd, Dru Hill, Brandy, Blackstreet, Stevie Wonder and more. Check out the photo - I hope I can find the HQ version of it.

Damn ya’ll, almost a month later and i’m just now adding photos from the Making The Band Tour in Las Vegas back on June 6th, 2008. Better late than never I guess. These were taken by a professional photographer, so the quality is good and its about 25 in the bunch. Check them out.

Whats up ya’ll? Still ain’t got the chance to see DAY26 perform live during the Making The Band Tour? You are in luck! The Guys will be performing at the Hot 97 Dr. Pepper Schools Out Concert on June 29th, 2008 at The Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. Other performers include Lloyd, Maino, and Ray J.

As we all know, DAY26 stopped by FNMTV to premiere their new music video and I have uploaded the videos for ya’ll to stream & download. The show started with a quick hilarious moment backstage with host Pete Wentz and later in the show The Guys discuss their favorite music videos and their influences and finally the actual interview on stage for the premiere. Aiite ya’ll! Here it is! The long-awaited second music video from DAY26. The Guys premiered Since You’ve Been Gone tonight on MTV’s FNMTV and the critics on the show loved it. This video is truly one of the best i’ve ever seen. They definentely lived up to “Getting their Denzel’s On” and more. The video is set in a hotel and on the roof of a hotel - which was perfect for this song and it includes an appearance by Dawn Richard of Danity Kane. This video will be the smash of the summer. I will be adding the FNMTV premiere version of the video and their interview from the show in a few minutes but here is the streaming version for right now. Yesterday, DAY26 stopped by MTV’s FNMTV (Friday Night Premieres) to premiere their brand new music video Since You’ve Been Gone - and I added about 15 photos from their appearance. They were photographed with singer Rihanna. It looks like they sang a lil’ bit of SYBG acapella for the crowd too. The show comes on tonight at 8PM - don’t forget!

Hey everyone 2day was an awesome day!!!! i got 2 meet day26 2x first at a mall signing (AMANDA THANK U SOOOOOO MUCH I LOVE U!!!!!!!) and then again at a taping of FnMTV….. They premiered the SYBG video and i can tell u guys that it is SICK!!!!!!! i know u guys probably dont care but u shoud for 2 reasons….. 1. is becuz based on how nice the video was u can expect the bad girl video 2 be CRAZY!!!! and 2. becuz Dawn is Ques love interest in the video!!!!!!!!!!!

In the video theyre like in a really nice hotel and in seperate areas and on the hotel roof which looked really amazing and expensive….. will is in a hotel lobby, brian is in like the bar area, and que is in a hotel room sitting on his bed and while he is singing dawn comes from behind him and starts rubbin his chest as they kiss and she has her leg all around his shoulder on his chest it was crazy i ****** lost my mind when dawn came from behind him!!!!!! the whole crowd went crazy when dawn came out!!!! well it premieres friday 8pm on FnMTV so everybody check it out… and look for dawn’s cameo!!!!
